About

Do you sometimes feel that school and all it’s associated stresses are like throwing dice in the air and hoping they land the correct way?

Hi and welcome to Schoolopoly! I’m Lisa, and as a Mum and a teacher, I felt there was a wealth of information out ‘there’ about school and everything associated, but not all in one place.

So, now it is. With most of us having busy lives, and not enough time and even knowledge to know where to search for information or products and services, I decided to create Schoolopoly to make it easier for everyone!

Unless stated, opinions are my own. I will be seeking as much ‘expert’ opinion as I can and will always quote all sources. If there is something you feel I have missed, or would like information on, please email me here.

I think with my years of experience as both a teacher and a Mum (most importantly) I know plenty of the shortcuts we can ALL use!

I really hope you enjoy Schoolopoly and that it helps you and your family. I’d love to hear how it does!

Lisa

Our Motto!

“If a child lives with criticism
They learn to condemn
If a child lives with hostility
They learn to fight
If a child lives with ridicule
They learn to be shy
If a child lives with shame
They learn to feel guilty
If a child lives with tolerance
They learn to be patient
If a child lives with encouragement
They learn confidence
If a child lives with praise
They learn to appreciate
If a child lives with fairness
They learn justice
If a child lives with security
They learn to have faith
If a child lives with approval
They learn to like themselves
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship
They learn to find love in the world.”

This was not written by me but it is something I have had for many, many years. I would acknowledge the author if I knew who they were. So if you do know who wrote this, please let me know. I would sincerely like to thank them, and secondly, so that I can acknowledge their work.

***Thanks To Larisa who let me know that this is indeed by Dorothy Law Nolte – an American Writer and Family Counsellor
